Included in Mira Mesa are the sub-neighborhoods of Sorrento Valley and Sorrento Mesa.

A total of approximately 16.5 mi.² makes up the acreage of the community, and the total population of the area is roughly 80,000 individuals. Mira Mesa has become one of the most popular sections of San Diego to live and work in, partly due to its proximity to the downtown area, and partly because it has so much to offer within its community borders.

With one of the best movie theaters in the city, Edwards Cinema, there are too many people in Mira Mesa and not enough room. Stretching from Scripps Ranch to Sorrento Valley, most do not even realize how large Mira Mesa is. One thing everyone knows without a doubt is that the traffic is horrendous. Hundreds of companies that all have hours 9-5 are packed into the industrialized area just east of La Jolla and it’s always growing.
